Robbery at the House of an OasNet Pastor from Iganga Uganda
It was on the night right before the New Year, January 1st 2012, that we were attacked by robbers who seem to have been trying to get into our house for a long time. The reason they didn't suceed before was due to the watch dogs that we have.
The area where we live is known to be a high crime area but because of finances we had no choice but to build our house in this area. When we decided to live in this place we had to buy some dogs for security. In 2009 we had been there for only one month when our dogs were poisoned and died--they were still young. At that time, they managed to take some of our clothes. So we had to buy new dogs that were strong and fierce. This was very expensive for us but we did not have any other option. Since then we have lived safely and other people living near us have also felt a sense of safety with our watch dogs. There were still multiple occasions when people tried to rob us but they never succeeded because of our dogs.
But they came back again and got smart and poisoned our dogs (they were not trained not to eat everything given to them). The poison was so strong that immediately they tasted it and died. The robbers managed to break into our home. There was a lot of noise since people were celebrating the New Year. Nobody came for our rescue even though we tried as hard as we could to call for help.
There is only one room with a door and that is where we put the whole family. They managed to take almost everything and our home was left almost completely empty. We survived with only the little things which were in the room we were hiding. So, now we are going through a very hard time because they took everything valuable and we are starting over at the beginning. But we thank God that our lives were protected and we are alive now.
Thanks for your prayers, we know that we were protected because of them.
We are believing for God to provide what we need to build a wall around our house for protection. We also need to buy other dogs immediately for it is hard to be in this area without dogs at this time. If possible we want to buy trained dogs that are smart enough not to take poisoned food.
Thanks for your prayers and support.
